Invicta Cup Rules

  • One pair from each club, as well as the winners of the annual Warrior Cup, will be invited to play in the Invicta Cup knockout tournament

  • During each round, the match is decided over 18 holes. However, the semi final only will be played both home and away. If the results are equal after the two matches, the pairs will play additional holes, from the first tee, until a result is reached.

  • If the match is all-square at the completion of 18 holes the match goes into extra holes starting at the first, with strokes being taken as per the scorecard until a winner is determined.

  • Each competitor must have an ACTIVE WHS handicap issued by an affiliated golf club and have played in a minimum of 5 handicap qualifying 18 hole competitions during the previous 12 months from the date of any Invicta Cup match. Handicaps must remain ACTIVE from the date of entry and throughout involvement in the competition.

  • A maximum WHS course handicap of 16 is allowed.

  • Handicap certificates must be produced if requested by the tournament organiser

  • Matches will be played in pairs betterball, with shots allocated according to KGU rules i.e. Calculate your Course handicap, then your Competition handicap (90% in this case) then for match play you adjust to take strokes off the lowest rated player.

  • A maximum handicap index of 16 is allowed. A player may have a  handicap greater than 16 but this will be reduced to a maximum of 16.

  • Handicaps may increase/decrease throughout the season and you must play off your current handicap on the day of the match.

  • Players, once registered, will receive notification of the draw by email from the Tournament Organiser. This will include details about opponents including contact details and when it must be played.

  • It is incumbent on players who complete in a first round match, to play in any subsequent rounds

  • Home sides are requested to provide at least 3 dates for playing each round (which should be at the weekend unless midweek is acceptable to both teams).

  • Should the home team not contact the opposition within 7 days of the initial email then the first team to make contact will have home advantage

  • The Tournament Organiser will disqualify any players who fail to complete their match by the deadline date.

  • If a match has to be abandoned (i.e. due to poor light or adverse weather) the round should be restarted from the place it was abandoned at a mutually convenient time but before the round closing date.

  • Once a date and time has been agreed if either side cancels the match within 72 hours of the agreed start time the opponents may claim the match. If more than 72 hours’ notice is given the match should be re-arranged at a mutually agreed time. Cancelling a match twice, or cancelling a match that is arranged within 7 days of the deadline, may be claimed by the opposition.

  • Failure to play a match by the stated dates will result in the disqualification of both sides.

  • Buggies are not permitted except due to a medical exemption and in that case a medical certificate should be available. If a player with a medical exemption does use a buggy, his playing partner cannot use the buggy at any time for himself or his golf equipment.

  • The winners in each round must notify the organiser by completing the results form before the closing date for each round. A confirmation email that the result has been received will normally be sent within 48 hours with details of your next opponents if they are available.

  • Collection of Data – Competitors agree to provide their e-mail address as part of the entry to the competition, this may be used by Golfbreaks for their marketing purposes.

  • Prizes will be presented to the winners at the annual Invicta Jamboree.

  • If a green fee is payable this cost should be divided between the four players.
